Never, never swim up directly to a person drowning. They are 100% panicking and will always grab u to try to stay afloat, every single time. Throw something temp that floats, a cooler, etc. if u have 2, swim up from the back, reach ur arm under n around the persons arms at the chest, pull them back so their head is floating on your shoulder. Then u can swim backwards to a safe location. If they still get ahold of u, duck and pull them below the water w u, they will instinctively let go, trying to get back to the surface 2 breathe. Once u can get them in the correct rescue position, then u can bring them to dry land..hopefully u never have 2 do, but if so, remember this..
